I'm pretty beat up from traveling to Kentucky last weekend. Food is one of the things I can talk about no matter how tired I am. So I janked this survey from Christina. Learn some fun things about me! Hahah!

A: is for Apple, what’s your favorite variety?
I'm pretty easy, I love golden delicious. One of the things I miss about KY are the orchards. In the Fall we always went apple picking - it was so much fun.
B: is for Bread, regardless of nutrition, calories, or whole grains what is your favorite type to have a nice big piece of?
I love me some rye bread with spinach dip! Or bagels, I can destroy some bagels.
C: is for Cereal what is your favorite kind currently (just one!)
I don't eat cereal very often, but when I do it's normally some sort of Kashi.
D: is for Doughnuts, you might not currently be eating them but what kind do you fancy?
Kripsy Kreme. I avoid at all costs. But nothing satisfies better.
E: is for Eggs, how would you like yours prepared?
Depends on how much time I have! If I'm in a hurry (or really hungry) I just go with over easy. But I love them all ways. Eggs benedict is fabulous!
F: is for Fat Free, what is your favorite fat free product?
I avoid a lot of fat free products because it seems like they're filled with more artificial stuff. But as for naturally fat free, my greek yogurt breakfasts foots the bill.
G: is for Groceries, where do you purchase yours at?
I get most of my weekly food from a CSA right now. The rest I find at Harris Teeter or sometimes Whole Foods.

H: is for Hot Beverages, what is your favorite hot drink?
I like my coffee cold, but sometimes I go for a hot chai tea latte.

| Drink of choice - Iced Grande Americano with two Splendas |
Black cherry from Graeter's. Best, best ever.
J: is for Jams or Jellies, do you eat them, and if so what kind and flavor?
Not picky! I like blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, etc. etc. I love the old men on the corner of the Farmer's Market that have lots of jams.
K: is for Kashi, name your favorite Kashi product?
I like some of the frozen meals.
L: is for Lunch, what was yours today?
No clue. Haven't made it to the grocery store, so I'll destroy something on King Street. Maybe some Dellz Deli. :)

M: is for microwave, what is your favorite microwave meal/snack?
I love all of the Amy's Organics meals. They cost more than Lean Cuisine stuff, but are worth it.
N: is for nutrients, do you likes carbs, fats, or proteins best?
I never really notice. Some days I crave a salad, others it's pretzels. I'm pretty all over the place.
O: is for oil, what kind do you like to use?
Most of the time olive oil. But I use the bad stuff for baking.
P: is for protein, how do you get yours?
Greek yogurt almost every morning, chicken, sometimes beef. I get it in a mix of ways.
Q: is for Quaker, how do you like your oats?
I don't eat oats often, but I'm simple - I like the apples and cinnamon and maybe some fruit on top.
R: is for roasting, what is your favorite thing to roast?
Lately - turnips! I never loved turnips but the more I eat them the more I crave. Also, love roasting green beans and asparagus.
S: is for sandwich, what’s your favorite kind?
I love the turkey tom from Jimmy Johns. I'm not a big sandwich person, do burgers count??
T: is for travel, how do you handle eating while traveling?
I binge. Ha, I just came back from a weekend trip to Kentucky and could not stop eating. I demolish everything. Starting today I'm on a clean veggie stretch. Go big or go home, right??
U: is for unique, what is one of your weirdest food combos?
A lot of people think I'm a weirdo for eating bacon and peanut butter sandwiches. Seriously, it is amazing.
V: is for vitamins, what kind do you take?
Don't take any. I believe I get a good balance from the food I eat.
W: is for wasabi, yay or nay?
No dice. Wasabi is one of the few things I hate with a passion. I love spicy food, but hate wasabi. I always have to be careful when getting sush at the grocery store, because the wasabi cannot be touching at all. Grossss.
X: is for XC Foodie, why is she so awesome?
Hmmm..because she's a foodie? (Who is she?? Ha!)
Y: is for youth, what food reminds you of your childhood?
Goetta. It's a Cincinnati sausage type thing and is amazing. I crave it all the time and have to have it every trip home.

Sauteed or roasted most of the time. But I keep getting so much from my CSA I need to mix it up! I'm determined to learn how to make zucchini bread and this recipe I just saw for zucchini pizza.

i loved this survey. i'm glad i'm not the only one who doesn't take vitamins, haha.
ReplyDeletePS: i think we get all the vitamins we need just from our CSA boxes!
ReplyDeleteLove it! We have a lot in common in terms of the types of food we eat and our general nutrition views. Glad you made it back safe and sound!
